Looking for a few parts for a no1 mk3: magazine and sling, mostly.

Was wondering if anyone knew where I could find these sorts of things here in NL.

My father paid around 100$ for the rifle around 20 years ago, if I recall correctly, and it's not in the best of shape lol

look on the EE, there was a hunting/gun store in gander at the town square plaza, don`t know if he`d have anything, there is a gun store on the way into lewisporte, never went in, but pretty big place, on the internet, and you probably know some one who has those pieces, and don`t know what they`re from.
there was also an antique store in grand falls-windsor, he had some stuff too, but i can't remember the address.

Trade-Ex (banner advertiser) has Magazines and they also could still have some of the Danish slings.

They are a direct copy of the Canadian/British sling, last absolutely forever.

I note the very low Post Count. Welcome aboard, friend!

Thanks, I'll check those out. Scraped a ton of rust and gunk off the poor thing; it was forgotten in the back of my uncle's dank shed for years.

Edit: just looked on that traderex site, they're out of stock on enfield 3 mags

Check the bore and then the headspace before you spend any money. If it sat in a dank shed, the barrel is likely rusted to garbage and needs replacing.
Thousands of No. 1 sporter's have been assembled out of parts bins with zero QC. A lot have bad headspace. It must be checked before you shoot it.
Marstar laughingly calls the only Mk III mags they have, that appear heavily rusted, on their site as having "some surface rust". $35 each. They do appear at gun shows occasionally. Make sure they are No. 1 mags. Two locking lugs on the back

Well I didn't get her checked out but everything felt solid so I had a few shots with her. Fired around 40 rounds of mottled green cartridges out of a box labeled 1950. Good times!

Probably not one of the smartest things I've done.

I'm no gunsmith; but, the barrel was unobstructed, the action felt solid, and it was apparently a good shooter the last time it seen the light of day, a decade or so ago.

Seemed safe to me.

Sunray, I just took a look at marstar's enfield magazine page... Is 35$ what I'm going to have to pay, for a heavily rusted enfield magazine? I've only seen a few for sale online so far, and usually it says in bold letters "sold out".

Also, I can't say I've ever been to a gun show.

Unfortunately Trade-Ex is out of both and has little in the way of enfield parts. Marstar or gun shows may be your best bet.

I've never heard of a gun show here in nl and I don't think I can access the ee, yet.
