I am relatively new to the reloading end of this hobby, but getting supplies seems very difficult. I have a 308(precision) a 30-06(hunting)and .357 and 44 mag revolvers that I wish to reload for. in the mean time, I am at the mercy to try and scavenge factory ammo to shoot, whilst I collect brass, and wait for primers and powder. Any suggestions? What do you do?

I buy stuff here on the EE, cabelas has limited stock of what I use, wholesale sports and P&D in Edmonton. I have bought some stuff from Ellwood Epps in the past, but shipping gets pretty costly. What major center are you close to?

Keep trying Cabelas and WSS for powder. If you have a big powder order to fill, maybe order from Higginson out east or RaynerShine in Sask. Freight/ hazmat fees add up so order 8 to 10 lbs. Check out the gun local sun show at the aviation museum as there are a couple of power vendors that usually show up. Get your pills from P&D or order from Budget shooters. Range brass from Phoenix. Cheapest primers are from Canada ammo.

Good luck getting anything, yet alone "big orders" , raynershine's has nothing useful in stock and when they do get an order, they limit to 2 lbs per customer, as guys are hoarding so bad.
There's guys on the forum trying to sell off their 20-30yr old left over powders. Even VV says their powders are less effective after 10 years, stored under perfect conditions.

I think its all a government ploy, all these manufactures have had years to ramp up powder production.

My favorite place in the Edmonton area is P&D Enterprise. Dam what a super store, great staff and a super selection for reloaders ! I go there every time I am in town and the shelves are well filled. Give them a call or if in Edmonton, go to their store !!

Why so negative. You just need some patience. I have been able to find Accurate 1680 and 5744 and some Winchester 296 from Raynershine. Found Titegroup, IMR 4227, H4198, Varget, H1000 from Cablelas. Higginson had bulk 800x, misc IMR etc. Phoenix has stuff coming in regularly. Just saw some Retumbo in stock yesterday. Nothing lasts long. P&D is overdue for a big order of powder.

Most guys limit you to 2lbs in one purchase

My stock is pretty good right now. Stuff keeps coming in and gets sold out quickly so buy whenever you see something you plan to use.

Whenever I'm in Edmonton I go to P&d. With powder you have to be patient and keep checking all the stores. Be prepared to buy when available as some powders go fast.
