So... now that I'm facing the fact that I could possibly be seen as a terrorist and dragged off to Guantanamo if I use my old strategy of buying my powders while passing through the States. Where does one even buy powder in the Ottawa area? Le Baron's seem to be in a constant state of not having any stock. And Higginson Powder tends to do better. However, neither of those two places, even if fully stocked would even deal with Ramshot. It's pretty hard to even attempt to give a company money if they don't even have a distributor in your region.

I'm specifically looking for Ramshot TrueBlue.:bangHead:

Have you tried Stittsville Shooting Ranges?

Sail?

Sports Action 2000?

Thanks. New to the Ottawa area since reloading. I don't remember Sail having anything to do with reloading... But I haven't checked out Sports Action... and apparently they are changing locations... and moving right around the corner from my home.

My hopes aren't high for Ramshot though. Even looking at their website, they have hardly a single distributor in Canada, none in Ontario or Quebec.

Anybody want to start a powder and brass making business? It sounds lucrative...

Don't fixate on Ramshot, buy what is available. Figure out what other powder will work for you and keep your eyes open.

Thanks Ian. I think that'll be the plan.

Just checked out Sail and Sports Action. Sail surprised me! They actually have a reloading section now since I was last in a few years back. But still no powders, primers or brass. Sports Action seems like a nice little place though, and they say they'll order anything you can put a name to... So, I ordered some from them... I won't hold my breath though ;)

CoonT, thanks... I'll have a drive up there too. Later... too much snow right now.

Al's cornerstore, up towards arnprior, is probably a good bet. They seem to have all kinds of goodies hidden on those shelves

I forgot about Al's. It's on old Hwy 17 and Galetta Side Road. Take 417 west and get off at Kinburn Side Road, turn right and at the stop sign turn left. Al's is about 3 or 4 clicks on the right, at the crossroads.

I like little places like that. But they're probably not what they used to be. I got into reloading just a couple years ago... right before this crazy... whatever you call it... ammo craze... But it was neat to see sections with a good supply of various components. And if it wasn't there, it was easily ordered in a couple weeks.

Then it went to blanks shelves... now they don't even bother to leave the shelves blank as if they do stock the product but have simply run out. And when you do ask if you can order... clerks either don't know what you're talking about, or they laugh a little.

I never pictured myself as an ammo hoarder... But I will be once I get the chance now.
