Hey guys I live in Chilliwack.
I know there's a gun club and all but I wanted to know if there's any place by Columbia Valley/Cultus/Chilliwack Lake that offers outdoor environment with a safe downhill back drop that could extend over 500 meters

and by any chance, does anyone know how to gain access or apply for access to the General Volks Range up by Chilliwack Lake?
(it's the 800 meters military range and i've only been there when i was with the reserves doing summer training and tossing grenades)

EDIT: I meant to say if there are any safe shooting spots where I could legally discharge a few rounds from a number of registered un-restricted class rifles (mainly .22LR and .308)

I would like a question to this answer too :) my gf lives down chilliwack lake road so i'm out there pretty often. I used to drive down the road for a while past that shooting range your talking about and hike a bit till i found an opening with a good back-stop.

which area is that? I know if you go too far out, you'll reach the Correction facility/Jail/Prison.

I'm actually looking for an area with roughly 500 to 1000 meters for just precision practice without the law showing up asking for my registration paper.

The last time I went up the log-road by Chilliwack Lake, some lady complaint about "explosion" and the Chilliwack RCMP showed up.
***it was only a .308***

And as for the General Volks Range, I don't think it's ever opened to the public unless it's a competition, although it would be cool if they charge like $5 ~ $10 a day per person.
*I miss that grenade range where I threw my first grenade and it went BOOM*

It is not open to the public however, access to the range is available for BCRA members as daunevin pointed out.
