Where to shoot restricted Rifles in/around Montreal ?!?!?

CTM ( Club de Tir Montreal ) is located on 52nd Avenue , aprox 150m south of Cote de Liesse . Look for the sign on the east side of the street .

Supose to open in October .

Is this going to be a pistol only range ? I suspect that this is an interior range being in a commercial/industrial area.

Granby is the best place for restricted rifles with its 200m range. Plenty of parking, friendly volunteer officials and it's open 4 days a week. It has an indoor range (well, only the shooting positions are indoors but is is heated!) as well as covered positions for all the other ranges. The fees are reasonable (125$ per year for the restricted I believe). My only problem with it is that I don't have the time to go there enough!

Nice Shrapnel, but unfortunately I'm in the same boat as you => not enough time to go out there
The fees, if they are as you mentionned, seem reasonable enough :D
And the fact that it's an heated "outdoor" 200m range sounds very good 8)

Quebec sucks!!!
As most of you know I'm kind of a VZ58 fan.....I LOVE EM :D
They shoot the hard hitting and plentyful 7.62 x 39mm and have large detachable mags. They are also very ungradeable.
As per CGN terminology, it simply is the blackest rifle in Canada under $700. Well thanks to Milarm, they can be had for $375.
So where I'm a getting with all of this? You shall soon find out!
I just got a call from my CFO regarding the ATT for the VZ.
I need to be a freaking memeber at a gun club before it can even be shipped to my home!!! This is not surprising.
The only thing that I find pathetic is that the only place that really is Restricted rifle friendly is quite a drive away from Montreal (I do aoppreciate the carpool offer but I always work on the weekends :( ) and they aren't heated.
The newest place will only have a 50m range ?!?!? Okay it's on island, but still too short.
Does anyone see a trend???
They tax are asses through the roof (of a skyscraper) and the government is still being a total assbandit about range approvals.
I guess I should stop with my complaining and create a new poll to kinda help me with choosing beteen two clubs:
The one by Grandby or the new one in Montreal?

Thank you all that participated, much appreciated as always.

Ok santa,

Here is maybe something that will help you decide better. I have a VZ-58 and I've shot with it till 200m. Unless you are shooting at a man size target at 100m or more, those thick VZ-sights will get your eyes tired very quicky. Solution, better sights or 50m.

The 200m range is not heated, but the pistol stand is. St-Jacques is nice and close. Granby is nicer but 40 kms further :?

Thanx Guys,
If read correctly, then the St.Jacques has an exterior 200m restricted range right?
Don't really mind if it's not heated, lots of hot coffee in a 2L Thermos :D
And they are only open on the weekends right?
Are the membership fees still the same as on their site: http://macten.net/acpl/ ?
Thanx all :D

sixty9santa yes you can if you send your info with someone ,ie money and pic to ACPL to do it for you. Actually call them first to confirm if that's possible ;)
