Where to source a handguard clip m14?

Hey guys,

As the title says I'm in search of a handguard retaining clip. Mine snapped and it's pretty useless without it.
I know brownells has them but importing is my last resort.
Anybody have or know where to get one?

I may have an old handguard kicking around...might end up costing about the same as a clip.

pretty much Brownells is your only source other than getting on off another handguard

Yeah I figured it might come down to that. I mean I could do a rail system that's available here but I dont want to pay that price, at least not yet

Do you have the clip tool to put it on? Aren't the m14 clips the same as m1 garand rifle?

yes the same and you need the tool(clip pliers)

The pliers should be used on wood handguards to prevent cracking them

I have redone a couple of messed up vented handguard and always pulled the clips simply by putting an Allen key thru the hole and gently pulling on it... not hard at all. Treeline can get you the clip, or complete handguard pretty cheap.

2 pieces of thin para cord is all I ever used to install them, one end clamped in a vice, grunt power on the other end.
I may have one...have to look.

Just a couple wires is all you need!

Awesome, great tips and tricks. I ended up jb welding and such the clip together and its solid.
Aint a pretty fix but it'll do until I get a replacement
