Where to store firearm!?!?!

Shouldn't have said anything. Do you pay any rent? or do you lease? If so, start paying rent, then you don't have to ask permission. If it was me? I would say O.K. I changed my mind.

PLUS, we need to drop this "central storage" or storage at the range as acceptable. It is NOT. It is only helping the Anti's, and they need no further help from us. Your property should be where ever you are, or where ever you want it.

He lives with his parents.... is likely 18 or so.... young people disobeying their parents while under their roof and bringing firearmns into a house where they are not wanted is fuel for the antis....

Under his circumstances storing his firearms at teh range is perfectly acceptable....

Thank you all very much for your replies. I greatly appreciate it. My father has control issues but I am hoping to change his mind. Taking him to the range sounds like a great idea. I also agree that its not the safest place I was only checking as a last resort. Thank you again!!

Another vote for the range. Perhaps he'd let you take it apart and leave the frame in the house and another piece locked away in the trunk. At the end of the day it's mom and dad's house but as others have said take them out and demonstrate your hobby and demonstrate you are responsible.

Happy shooting.

I'd run something like this;

"Dad, would you allow me to store the rifle here if you, and you alone, kept the bolt hidden somewhere safe? Without the bolt the gun is nothing but an expensive tube with a wooden handle, it can not fire. I can remove the bolt at the range, and I can hand it to you before I come in the house with the rifle locked in it's case? This is your house, your rules, so if you say no I'll cancel my order for now... but I'm asking for this concession until I move out. Obviously I only have a few years left here, but this is a hobby that I really want to take up and I'm hoping you'll join with me."

I am on the waiting list to get into a firearms club and my first course starts in feb.

So you Don't have your Licence and you bought a Gun?:eek:

If your parents said no to guns in the house that's the end of that, my dad sounds like yours at times even tho he has his own guns, so to everyone else saying do it anyway :stfun00b:

You don't want to have to move out and pay rent just so you can store a single fire arm i get yea and i agree, my question is do you have any friends who have guns or maybe some of your dads friends that are "cooler" if they have there own collection I't wouldn't be that big of a deal to get them to store the firearm for a while.

I sure wouldn't store it in your car/truck unless its in its own locked compartment with a trigger lock. although it is allowed as long as out of sight and unusable but you can get burned, as lots of people will tell you.
