The "bucket list" gave us the chance to dream, And the "Last one ever" gives the opportunity to cyber-poach, run up the cyber Visa and even time travel a bit.

This is different. I heard some woman explain once to a starry-eyed bimbo that when she had a ring and a date set she could say she was "engaged", but until then she was just getting regular pillowtalk. The parallels are real, hunt talks have a habit of ending at deposit time.

Who's got what solidly booked? For the sake of arguement lets say a date, deposit, plane ticket, gun importing permit or something that says "this is going happen".

I'll start:
August 16 will see my wife and I in the Northern Territory
of Australia doing a feral pest cull shoot. Culls of this nature are the big game hunter's version of shooting gophers, or what South American dove shooting is to a wingshooter. There are buffalo, scrubbers, pigs, brumbies, goats and donks in what could be described as a target rich enviroment. This the only rifle hunt that I know of where barrel heat is a factor.

Sept 15 gets me to NE B.C. for moose, mountain caribou and goats or whatever combination starting with moose can be done in 10 days. This one is a local escorted hunt, and I have every reason to believe that the "Local" would shoot me if I gave up the location so don't ask.;) A booking with the Beaver pilot says it's gonna happen.

I know that many of you are watching the calendar pages flip while counting down the days. Care to share the itinerary?

Wow... Sounds like a real riot dogleg...

My next trip is last week of march and I am headed to the orlando florida area to hunt osceola turkey... Hog hunting on that ranch is also free when you have paid for your turkey hunt...

Not as glamorous as some but I sure am looking forward to it...

Tundra Grizzly in May,Nunavut. Plane tickets cost almost the same as flying to some African countries, yet it's under a 3 hr flight.
Close to finalizing cougar for next winter.

I found the same thing with the Northern Canada flights. Alaska is not bad, South America is cheap. Canada; bend over. Grizzly hunt sounds fun.

Wyoming antelope,if I get the draw which I should.I have to get the go ahead from the doctors as well, but I'll go regardless! Mur

Going to Labrador in mid-December for some Grouse/Ptarmigan hunting...nothing but a shotgun and some snowshoes.

Flights are booked, but no deposit necessary...My buddy is my outfitter :)

I've got three in the wind but no money down yet, so they don't count. I have pretty much decided on Bongo and Lord Derby in CAR for Apr 2014, but they are still at the shows and won't be home til next week to accept deposit. I'll keep ya posted.

Dogleg, with your permission I'd like to ask everyone what firearms, optics and calibers are planned with these booked hunts?

What cal and rifle ya takin' for Tundra Grizzly?

You're right about northern flights all right, only upside is no hassle with firearms what so ever, it's perfectly normal to them!

That's actually good to know... I am looking to do the turkey slam and being able to fly cheap down there will help me with my gould's gobbler ambitions... That will be my last in the series...

April & May black bear hunting around here.

Late May early June Grizzly in Northern BC - again I hope.

Late August, September, Elk, Moose, and hopefuly a goat.

I'll probably take my Kimber Montana in 270 WSM or my Sauer 80 in 300 Win Mag, not sure yet. If I was to go with the locals recommendation, it would be a 223, they use small calibers for everything it seems. If I was to bring my 375 H&H, we'd probably go looking for Mammoth. :D

Pretty tame compared to where this thread will go, just a pair of Rocky Elk this year (my brother and I, if so fortunate as to both score), owning the land we hunt is the down payment if that can be said. Wolves will continue to be hunted this year, full payment made on a .257 Roberts action and Krieger barrel is the downpayment on them. :p
