Where's the M24?

Was talking to Gord from Milarms a while back :( they were trying to get one in.

Have a very good friend who is the equipment/training guy for the local nuclear plants, he priced an M24SWS, full kit, through the over priced ####ty service police/militray supplie guys in Montreal, $12,000.00 for the whole thing. Way to much as far as I am concerned.

I used to love the M24 a lot, but the M40's started to grow on me a lot more. I don't like the long action of the M24, but I do like the stock.
The thing I find funniest is when guys like the guy at hunting store here think "sniper" rifles are "prohibited".

Everything about the M40A1 is better. The stock, the action the way it is tuned and clip slotted, the Unertl base and rings and the Unertl 10X scope. The M40A1 is hands down the coolest Sniper rifle ever. just my opinion though!

He is half right & half wrong. Some are like the PSG-1.

Does anyone in Canada sell the retro M40 with a wood stock?

I've never seen it before, but I like it a lot :dancingbanana:

It just came out this year, so you should be seeing a limited # on some gun dealers shelves anytime soon...

sf: That is a semi-auto though. I'm talking bolt-action "sniper" rifles, whether they be upgraded varmint rifles or sniper classed rifles like the M40.

Nothing more needs to be said about this, the M40A1 is the ultimate!

On the M40 from Remington, that was a project with Remington and Iron Brigade Armory that is sold exclusivly through Davidsons. I have already been intouch and they are not sending any to Canada, aswell, according to them, all have been sold, and they suggested I try different dealers across the US until I find one who has one and will export.

It is differant from the M40A1, the action is not near the same as far as tuning goes, the parts are not the same and the barrel is not as heavy, but it is still an awsome gun and I am going through the list they gave me, hopfully I can find a willing dealer.

Probably not. IIRC they only made 500 of these - so you probably won't see any on store "shelves" unless they are in the business of bringing in special order items for individuals...

hsld.

Davidsons told me that 1400 were produced, and there are no plans for another run. I found a dealer in Florida who has 3 instock, ready to go with base/rings and green anodized scopes, who may be willing to work with me to export one, going to submit for import permit today.
