I've used lots of 17 grains for them. But when I went for more ammo today I walked out with 15.5, 17 and 20 grain bullets.. anyone try all three and what did you find?

If you try all three, use the ones that shoot most accurately out of your rifle.

Those would be the 'best' ones.

Obviously! But I have tried them on paper in the back yard and they are pretty much equal when it comes to accuracy.. I can't tell the difference in any of them

How big is your back yard? :)

100+ yards?

Wring them out as far as you can shoot to, then buy what you can get. I don't think it makes much difference to the gophers.

I've only used the 17 gr Vmax and the 17 gr TNT hollowpoints. Both are awesome on gophers, I prefer the TNT's as I've experienced better terminal 'acrobatics' with them.

I've 'taken' over 3000 gophers with the HMR and find it to be ideal as a short to medium range cartridge.
