which 1911 is the best quality?

wow,STI 1911 still spearheading, what about Trojan5.0 SS I am gonna set my heart on it. no worse than LesBaer,WilsonCombat or Nighthawk custom piece...and reasonable pricing...it sounds unbeatable?

I'm in the same boat as you, I love my S&W1911! i have a few other nice ones, but the S&W is the best shooter out of the bunch. The only add on I've made is a ambi-safety and a tungsten guide rod.

I do like shooting my buddys STI Trojan, very nice piece of work. That would be my next 1911

... I voted for the "Colt" mostly because that's what I've got, and used a fair bit. That being said, my Series 70 is not 100% stock either. Were I to buy a replacement, the first ones I'd look at would be the Para-Ord., and although it's heresy, in 9mm! ......even a "bone stock" 1911 from any of the reputable builders/manufacturers is a fine, functional piece ! ....... I want to pull my vote for Kimber

Kimbers are probably the best mass produced 1911's but I'm not so sure they are the best

I discovered my barrel has rifle ripples under the lugs - Kimber says it won't affect anything and it is just a side effect of the machining. Ugh!

When I was at P&D yesterday I didn't see any Wilsom Combat 1911's under the 2k price range. Saw a really nice one for $3200.00 though.

yeah,I checked there before. P&D is the only importer&Retailer for WilsonCombat,unfortunately the pricing is slightly expensive. anyway I probably have to over my budget for this pistol purchase because I already focus on custom 1911,just can't resist
