the hand fittings sam's get is more because the parts off the line have wandering tolerances. It's more like the hand fitting most colts get, the old machinery can't hold tight tolerances so the assemblers have to pick and choose parts to match over/under size bits to get correct fit up. Parts are still ok, just wider size ranges; assembled correctly, and no argument, SAM does (and better then colt IMHO excluding their custom shop) do it right.
For the money it's hard to beat the SAM, but i'd probably save the extra and buy and STI and be done with it, far and away better pistols. I'm curious about the latest para's as i believe someone else is building them now. They look good.........
