Which 223 to buy

Here I go again, looking for a new 223. I`m looking for:
*Bolt Action
*detachable Mag
*Shorter barrel, 20 inches or less
*Good accuracy
*wood stock or the option to replace with wood
* less than $800
Not having a lot of luck finding what I want, Anyone have any ideas?

Savage model 25? If you want a heavy barrel. Or buy the walking varminter (synthetic, matte finish) and pick up a spare wood stock from Boyd's. I'm considering replacing my Stevens 200 .223 with one of these.

MVP Predator has a 20" sporter barrel, but the more common and available Varmint has a heavy 24" barrel. Handled a Varmint the other day and I was quite impressed with the fit and finish. I'm sure the Predator with the shorter lighter barrel would make a great walking/hunting predator rifle.

One thing to consider with 223 bolt actions is the twist, since the majority seem to come with a 1 in 12 twist (i.e the CZ527). If you want to be able to use heavier bullets than 55 grain for hunting, then a faster twist is more desirable. I ended up with a Remington LTR with a 1 in 9 twist which with a scope weighs just under 9 lbs. This rifle has a fiberglass stock and a 20" barrel, but does not have a detachable mag as original equipment.
 
Tikka T3 Lite. Can't believe no one has posted this. You will not regret the Tikka in .223. It easily stabilizes 77gr Federal GM SMK's with the 1:8 barrel twist. It will break your budget some with the tax, but it's a $800 rifle that's as accurate as they come, right out of the box.
 
I seriously considered the MVP patrol (ultra short barrel), but was turned off by the fact that there was no SS option, and the bolt has a 90 degree lift. I think for a 223 rifle you want a 60 degree lift.
