Which 270 bullet for moose?

I'm shooting Federal Power-Shoks in 150 grains, the box says they run at 2850fps. I wish I could tell you how they perform on moose, but I have yet to get a shot at one. They group at about 3/4" at 100 out of my Tikka.

My uncle has taken a few with his .270 (before someone broke into his house and stole it) and as far as I know he's been shooting federal 150 grainers, none of which went no further than 50 yards.

A boiler room shot with any soft point at a decent velocity is going to send any moose to the ground.

With all the discussion on the 270. Which I've just bought for moose. Glad to hear they'll put them down.

What has been your experience with bullets.

Whats the best ones (factory loads) for moose in a 270.

I have dropped a lot of moose with plain old 130 grain Hornady soft point ammo in the .270.
150 would probably kill just as well.......:)

Check the load book, find the heaviest round nose bullet available , and load that :D
here's an option

Between my wife and myself, we have seen moose go down with everything from 130 gr Winchester Silvertips at 3100 fps to 160 gr Nosler Partitions at 2800.

The 270 just plains works! :)
