Which 300 magnum

Looking/thinking of longer range (than my current 308) for elk and moose which would be your flavour WSN WM Weatherby ect????
Or any other suggestions.

.300 H&H, first super 30 and always a classic!
.300 WeatherbyMagnum ,a real screamer in it's day/with lots snob factor in the MkV/barrel torturer.
.300 Win Mag The most balanced, mannerly of the .30s, economical to shoot in factory fodder. Lots of premium selctions in factory and to a Handlaoder well, bring on the rest of the newbie pack of stubbies.

The "Does it all of the .30s" For what your original question asked ,to step up from .308Win, then meet his big Brother. Once in awhile, some Rifle manufacturers get a proprietary cartridge that does everything so well in its class, it's hard to beat. Winchester got it right in '63.

Ums/WSMs etc. well,...I am just getting used to seeing long neck beer bottles, don't think I could go back to the stubby look, and these cartridges have got big shoes to try and fill. Time will tell.

Nope, I'm cheaper.

I'm so cheap, I'll walk closer to take it with the '06. Don't even own a magnum anything. And I have cleanly taken a deer (not moose) at 580yds. No moose I have ever shot was more than 300yds away (never more than 250 actually, but to round it off)...

In my oppinion, if you want to flatten your trajectory noticably beyond the 308win and 30-06 class of cartidges, the starting point is the 300Weatherby. Think 26" or longer barrel, and barnes TTSX bullets.

Not precise enough, what kind of 220gr bullet? We're pretty picky around here when it comes to things like that.

I like the Weatherby, but buying an off-the-shelf rifle today I'd probably take a Winchester Magnum. Way more choices out there. Good round.

Not precise enough, what kind of 220gr bullet? We're pretty picky around here when it comes to things like that.
