need to buy 100 pieces of 300 win mag brass. any suggestions as to what to get? I plan on loading it to 300 win mag specs not light loads. if you have some laying around pm me.

im thinking about trying Peterson, lapua don't make it no more and norma is priced like gold. anyone ever use jagerman brass? also a new up and coming company like peterson

I suggest buying at least 200pcs of whatever brand you buy.

2 batches of 50 will last me my lifetime and possible the next guys as well. after load development and drop checks it would be shot only when hunting bigger big game or in preparation for a big game hunt. maybe take it out for deer the odd time. . this is a lightweight hunting rifle.

I have accumulated about 500 W-W in 300 WM, which is my preferred brass in all chamberings for which it is available. It is relatively light and much harder in the web area than FC, Horn or even R-P. Norma is good brass but I still prefer W-W as it is significantly lighter.
I use this 300 WM brass for the Ruger 375, a 7mm-300 WM and a 9.3X300 WM I shoot. I'm also toying with the idea of a 6.5X300 WM........why not? I have no shortage of brass....and I can load it with my 264 WM dies.

I did up a 6.5-300 Win awhile ago, works pretty good with a 1-8 Kreiger. There was no real reason for it except I had a shot out STW on a Sako 75, a 6.5 barrel, more 300 Win Brass than I needed, a bunch of different bullets that didn't do so hot in the .264, and the gunsmith had a reamer that ironically he'd even forgotten about. My .264 Win die works, with the occasional trip through a .300 body die or just a .300 FL die with the guts removed. Heck, I was practically losing money not building it.

As I remember, it was the same thought process as I went through with the 7-300, except I knew what it was for.

When I needed brass no one had any in stock. I usually use ww brass but Jerry at Mystic precision got me some prvi brass and it's been good for 4 full length resizes so far. My neck sizing die isnt working. I really have to force the bolt down so I pulled all the bullets and full sized with no issues. I will anneal them after the 5th reload

I'm a bit of a hoarder. I'd rather have a bit too much than run out down the road and have to find more of the same headstamp.

I mostly have been satistified with maybe 100 per caliber in service and another 1-200 in reserve. Made a bit of an exception for the 300 when I got a good deal on a couple thousand. Some friends would collect brass by the thousands, which I sort of regarded as a harmless mental illness. :)

Fast forward a few years and those hoards of STWs with 15 dollar price tags and $20 300 RUMs don't seem so excessive any more. I'm trying unsuccessfully to repress the memory of 50 bags of Nosler for 35 bucks. :(

If they have lots, buy lots. If they have a little, buy it all.
