thanks for all the opinions guys, does anyone here have experiance with the colts in this caliber?
I do. The Colt Anaconda is great, the underlug tame the recoil of hot .44 ammo and it's just a blast to shoot. I also have/had more than a few 29's and the big snake is a tad better for allround accuracy and shooting experience. I also think that if it would have been available in 1971 when the Dirty Harry movie came out it would have been "the" .44 in Inspector Callahan's holster... Thing would have been quite different for the 29/629 S&W's sales and popularity throughout years...
Don't get me wrong, the big dash 2 and earlier vintage S&W's are still beautifully crafted pieces, a joy to own and shoot no doubt about it. JMHO, YMMV!
