Which .458 cartridge

What bullets are you using and what is your barrel length? I ordered a barrel and found 458-2 dies, I read that you are using IMR 3031. I am looking for a recipe.

Been using various but two seoerate bullets weights with differing powder loads are embedded in my memory.
First is 350 grain Hornday Interlocks, 55.0 grains IMR-3031 in my FN K98 Mauser sporterized, 20 inches of barrel.
Next, 405 grain Remington Core Lokt and 52.0 grains of the same powder. I believe this is very close to an Elmer Keith hunting handload for
the 45-70, about and around 1930s.
That 350 grain bullet/handload actually won a local contest at 100 yards & its peep sight.
Now it wears a Leupold.

Nice to hear that someone else out there appreciates bear meat. In my(and my kids) opinion it is the best of the best.
Nice rifle, too. A 45-70 on a siamese mauser was always a thought that appealed to me. This does the same thing, but no need for a slanted magazine.
