I've been using IMR 4831 in my 25-06 with good results. Been doing some reading about H4831 and they claim it was made for the 25-06. I've never used any of the H powders and I'm wondering if it is that much better in this round?

H is slightly slower burning than IMR, only noticeable in maximum loads and some rifles. They are very close to interchangeable. I used IMR in my 25-06 for years with no complaints, but bought a bunch of the "H" stuff 'cuz it was cheap, and it works just as well.

IMR makes the light bullets rip, you may find H to be slightly better with heavier bullets. I used IMR in mine with the 87 grers. Crazy speeds and varmint dust.

Usually you can get a couple of grains more H-4831 in a case than IMR4831.Try a 54gr dose of H4831 behind a 115gr Partition or 120gr bullet. It shoots all into one hole with either in my son's Ruger.Nuked a bull elk at 400 yards and made an exit hole taking out two ribs...................Harold.........54gr of RE22 shot the same with 115gr bullet

In my 25-06 I've tried a few of the powders others have mentioned in this thread.

However, my best accuracy results and with a variety of bullets in a number of weights has been using IMR 4350.
