just wondering if i should get the regular three die set from lee or if its worth it to spend the extra $$ and get the deluxe ones.... is the extra money worth it for the factory crimp die?

I've got the deluxe carbide set and until I started having some feeding problems in one of my guns I wasn't even using the Factory Crimp Die... now I always use it but from what I understand lots of people don't use the extra die. I wouldn't even have bought the deluxe set but the dealer sent it to me for the same price as the 3 die set. Bonus for me.

Mine kind of hangs up but it doesn't really effect performance.
I can't imagine why the expanding die would hang up, or stick. It should go so easy that you don't know if the die even touched the case, until you examine the brass.
I also can't imagine crimping a 9mm pistol case with a factory crimp die.
The usual way is to set the standard seating die to just take the slight belling out of the case where it was expanded to seat the bullet.
My advice would be to get those RCBS dies offered, fast, before someone else does.

I have 3 different sets of 9mm dies (an old pacific set, lee set & rc s carbide set). The rcbs ones are thebest IMHO.
I have never used a crimp die on my 9mm, I've never seen the need for them (for 9mm).

IIRC , it states in the Lee documentation that the "Sticking" is intentional to get all the powder out. Think of it as an Automatic tap.
I'm using the powder-thru die that came with my Dillon.
The Lee die does stick when releasing the cartidge.
Other two are just fine, though.
No need to factory-crimp 9mm.

Then try polishing the Mandrel or use a different die.
It was designed to do this. Polishing will make it do it less but it will still do it.
