Which action for custom 6.5 x 55.

Building a custom swede, have a 700 short action, just wondering if I need the long action, I know that remington built a 700 5.5 classic in 1994, but it does not say if it's a short or long action. I'm thinking I need long action due to the lengths of some of my reloads?

Any input greatly appreciated.

Yup, long actgion!
The .308 is a 51mm case, and the M7 action will not take a 6.5X55, but it will take the .260Rem.

Thats what I thought, thanks, guess I'll have to make someting else from the short action.

The long action will work better for you, but remington (and other manufacturers) have used short actions for thier x57 and x55 cartridges in the past. It just limits the length of loads that will fit in the magazine. - dan
