PEI's doesn't say anything about handguns. I actually had a talk with the head of the wildlife section about this - he said he couldn't see anything wrong with shooting grouse with shotshells from an antique pistol.
I beleive the Yukon allows handgun hunting as well. I would stay clear of shotshells, though, as their effective range is less than 20ft.
