I bought the Chiappa upper a couple of years ago and I don't think I'll ever buy another one. It ran great when it worked but now I've had a couple problems with it since purchasing it.
After a few hundred rounds, the bolt came apart on me. The bolt spring rod broke on one of the ends and mangled the bolt main spring. Fortunately, it was still under warranty . I'm not sure if this problem is that common but it has happened to some other shooters in the states.
Hopefully Chiappa has fixed this problem with their new bolt design.
Now, my latest problem is with a burr at the chamber opening. It happened mid-way through a magazine, I was able to get a few shots off and then an FTE. I got the stuck case out and noticed the burr.
I can either have it reamed or get a new barrel. Both of those options is going to cost close to $150 according to their warranty service centre. I'm also waiting for word from Chiappa on how much a new barrel will cost shipped directly to me.
With these two problems, I don't think I'll be taking it out much anymore.
Hopefully, others have had better experiences with their Chiappa.
