Which Balistic's Program do you like?

Ballistic Programs

I have both the Sierra and I also have Quick target and Quick load.
The sierra prorgam is cheaper and I got a great deal of use out of it, but the loads are static, but you can calculate all the various parameters you need to make reloads.

Quick load/target is more expensive but has a much wider range of bullets and powders to allow you to tweak your load with much less guess work, I prefer this software because of its flexibility and breadth. If I was buying only one it would be this one, I have the Sierra product because that was the first one I came across.

Is a free spread sheet program that allows you to calculate stability, I recommend it as a way to save time in working up new loads. If you have a copy of last months reloader mag, you will find the formula this spreadsheet quotes in the article about working up loads for a 300 win mag.

There is also a lot of load data on this site.

I use load from a disk, the second most popular would be quick load. Both
offer the information you would be interested in. I'll show you both next time
I see ya.

I use Sierra Infinity5.1 ,RCBS Load and Exbal but I find myself using the EXbal more often as it is loaded on to my Palm Pilot for come ups :D

Hi All,

I've recently found a new Ballistics app, Gnu Exterior Ballistics Computer, that is Open-Source, Cross-Platform and extremely accurate. When I first came across it, it was only being developed for Windows and Linux but after a little persuading, is now being compiled for Mac OS X as well.

Being a Mac guy, I was a little disappointed to not find any ballistics software built for the Mac platform. Now that GEBC is being developed for OS X, as well as the other platforms, shooting will be much more enjoyable.

I've written a blog post about my journey to get Gnu Ballistics compiled for OS X if anyone is interested, otherwise head over to the sourceforge project site and download your free version of this awesome ballistics app.

Cheers,

I use NightForce's calculator program. It has everything on it that I need
and even stuff/features that I don't, but they're there.
Eg. There is a complete list of ALL factory bullets by all the mfgs. and their
corasponding B.C., as well as a very healthy list of factory pre-rolled
ammo and their B.C.

You can change the settings around based on the perameters you want,
as with most of them I believe.
All in all I find it to be a great program, works very well and is also
available in a palm version. I'm not sure if TSE as them still but thats
where I purchased mine.

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know that I've just finished developing a ballistics calculator for the iPhone and iPod touch... check out the product page I put together for more info, some screenshots and a demo video.

It is available on the iTunes App Store now, for those of you who are interested.

Cheers,

I use plenty.
The core one is QuickTarget/Quickload.
Second one is Point Blank.
I also use my Load-from-a-Disk, the Remington Shoot program, the free LoadBase 1.0, and Rob's Reloading Organizer.

Shoot! is a very easy to use program, in wich you can compare three different loads.
