Which base goes with this?? Help

I've got this sportorized Mauser that's been drilled and tapped. Now how do I know what sort of Base goes with these holes? Is it universal? Are their certain types/measurements?

Most bases are already pre-drilled, so the spacing is sort of standardized, with exceptions for certain rifle designs. However, Bubba can also buy un-drilled bases and drill them hisself. or D&T the rifle for some weird base.
Probably taking it to a gun shop and asking them to fit it would be easiest.

My guess would be Weaver. I can't remember the part numbers but the bases should not be difficult to come by. And not expensive.

Set it down in front of a gunsmith and probably will have them in stock. Works for me so far.

Well - They be Weaver bases. Normally, the bases would be front (46) and rear (55). However, I note the rear receiver bridge has been ground down, so that may change things. Brownells has a very useful chart that specs all the relevant dimensions for Weaver bases - suggest you have a look.

When I installed some of the Weaver bases on M96 Mauser's I have had to shim a couple of them. Not sure why some but not others?

There was a Weaver base that cleared the charger guide. Different hole pattern than yours.
Trial and error in a gunshop might be an option.

d4Dave1 - when military rifles were made, mounting scopes wasn't one of the considerations, so shimming isn't uncommon.
