Hi im thinking of buying a 9mm beretta eventually and i was wondering which one to buy?
Whats the difference between the regular 92fs, inox and the m9a1. And should a guy buy the american one or the italian one?

thanks

The "regular" one is the one you'll usually see in the movies, the Inox is either all silver (Italian) or silver with black parts (USA). The M9A1 has an accessory rail for a light or laser. I have owned each kind and prefered the Italian Inox for looks, but the M9A1 as a home defense gun because I had a Streamlight TLR1 mounted on it.

Regular 92FS has black finish, not sure which type; inox has a stainless steel slide and is the best looking gun in the world. The M9 has a straight dust cover and M9A1 has a rail, I personal think they are look cool except the M9A1. There won't be much in difference between made in the State or Italy, I had a M9 and sold it after I saw an Italian made 92 inox.

I got some Italian surplus Beretta 92S pistols cheap, but the common magazines available were for US surplus 92FS.

The release button slot is in a different spot. I got some 92FS mags and tried to mill a slot. It turns out magazines are made with hardened steel. I had to use carbide end mills.

Someone tells me I could have alternately milled out a Browning Hi power mag, but I have not verified that.
