Hey guys,

I oringinally was going to get a marlin xs7 and put a boyds on it. However, im now concerned that the stocks wont fit my small hands :( the stocks i was looking at are the: classic, prairie hunter or pro varmint. all the grips (except the pro varmint) seem rather far from the trigger. Any experiences with this out there?

Now the pro varmint seems like a safe bet, but currently not made for an xs7 :( how easy would it be to get them to make one for my model??? or would other stocks fit me better?

btw my hands fit a mens size small from Marks. Marks medium gloves have a centimeter of extra length on all my fingers. if knowing this helps

thanks (oh and pics of your stocks are always fun :))

The Prairie Hunter is the slimmest grip profile stock that Boyd's makes... it is a very nice design.

I would be more concerned with length of pull. 2 of my Boyds stocks have a shortened lop and they fit me perfectly. The grip is narrow enough. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Prairie Hunter.

thanks guys. i had an opportunity to hold a classic and a featherweight thumbhole (just the stocks, no rifle in them) my hands did seem to fit fine in them. That featherweight stock sure aint no actual featherweight though! the classic felt waaaay lighter.

Order the stock you like unfinished and shape it to your desires , then finish with tru oil.
