I just purchased myself a 223 Vanguard and I was wondering what make or brand of ammo others may have found works best in thier gun. I plan on shooting coyote and fox with this gun. I don`t handload so that is not an option right now.
I know what works for you may not work for me but I am just looking to get some ideas so that I can have a good starting point with my ammo selection.

You'll have to try a box of as many brands and bullet weights as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. Your rifle has 1 in 12" rifling, so it'll likely prefer lighter bullets. 55 grains and under.
If you plan on keeping the hides for tanning, you'll want a commercial FMJ's(this is not milsurp ammo). Hornady, for one, makes them. Mind you, that'd be for reloading. (You will be reloading sooner or later.) Don't know who loads factory. Haven't bought any factory centrefire ammo for eons. Federal maybe.

Be sure to try the 45 grain Winchester white box bulk packs. My Ruger shoots them very accurately and you can't beat the low price (unless you reload). Be sure to save your brass in case you change your mind about reloading.

If you can get your hands on a few boxes of this stuff you'll probably find that you will be very happy with the results...

x3 on the win 45gr jhp. They used to stock them at walmart but I haven't seen any in a long while. Cheapest stuff you can find but seems to work about the best for most people.

Nice picture BC B, ;)

x5 on the Winchester "White Box" 45 grain .223 load...it shoots well in every .223 I've tried it in. :)

Stay away from the WWB 45gr it's horrible horrible stuff. Corrosive and made by blind semi retarded monkeys with shakey hands. Very bad mojo! :runaway:

s**t, I can't lie

It's EXCELLENT!! :dancingbanana: Just remember not to buy it all when you find some.......OK? :D
