which bullet to use??

160gr

Everyone has their preference, but if they have had any real experience with bullets they would not argue that sierra bullets do not even come close to partitions for reliable expansion and penetration period.

7-08 is a good choice for moose, when loaded with a good bullet. Same goes for the 308 and other cartridges in the same performance (270, 7x57, 284, 280, 300 savage, 30-06)

............. esp on heavy game where a Nosler (or Barnes) does it's best work, besides Sierras don't exactly have a stellar reputation for good penetration.

.

Appropriate caliber and weight, Sierra GameKings are just fine. I know a couple of guys that have used them with great success. One guy used a .270Win with factory 150gr Sierra GameKings on moose and bear. The other guy was using a 7mmMag and 160gr GameKings on whitetails; had complete penetration and exit on a big whitetail. Hit the buck in the brisket and it went out the hip. So that one didn't blow up.

I agree with rem338win, that you need to consider the MV of the cartridge and what you're going to be shootin' with it.

I bought some 220gr Sierra GameKings for my 8x57. They are 2300 fps MV so they should perform perfectly.
