Been spending some time looking into manual case trimmers. There is a ton of reviews at midwayusa.com and the ones with the most favourable reviews are the Wilson & Forster units.
There been some complaints about the universal shell plate on the new RCBS Pro Trim 2.
There has been instances of the Hornady Cam Lock having stripped threads.
Many reloaders have been largely disappointed with both model Redding trimmers.

What do you guys like and use?

Anyone know where to find a Forster trimmer?

I have a Wilson that I got from Sinclairs. I really like it. It's simple to use and works for what I need. If I was doing 100's of cases at a time I'd probably look at something that was automatic.

I finally moved up to the Sinclair unit .. it was a little pricy but I'm happy with the purchase.

You may be able to order direct from Forster if unable to find it at Brownells.

I did use a cheaper drill based trimmer but found it finicky to setup & adjust.

I use an RCBS manual trimmer for doing a few hunting loads ( under 50 rounds at a time) but have my RCBS auto trimmer set to do my .223

I am also in the market for a trimmer. Like you I have read every review I could find on all of them. I decided on the wilson trimmer from sinclair. I had to backorder it though. I will be using it for my precision reloads. I may also add a cheaper model for non precision rounds like 45-70. From what I have seen the wilson is the best.

Forster can be had from gerry at mystic. When I asked about one he said it was also backordered.

If the Forster was readily available I'd likely just buy it. Can't find any in Canada. I've found a pile of NIB older RCBS Pro Trims that use the flat shell holders as opposed to the spring loaded universal holder that fits all calibers. In a few shooters reviews there was some complaints of the new ProTrim 2 with universal shell holder.
Perhaps the many users of the older RCBS ProTrims that used shell specific flat holders could chime in and let us know how well they work.
The Wilson/Sinclair ones are beauties but won't work on all the calibers I need to trim.

Just recently bought the Frankford Arsenal trimmer, and highly recommend. Used just about everything from the Lee to RCBS manual trimmers and this is the best.

Have you tried Forster themselves.. I've orderd a couple of items and the were quick to ship..

Thanks for that, Jerry at Mystic has them in stock and hooked me up!
After going through well over 150 reviews these Forsters have a 95%+ rating, equalled only by the Sinclair/Wilson units. No other trimmers on the market even approach this rating.
I hope it's what want.....

I puchased my Forster classic trimmer with a hollow pointer attachment at a garage sale for $5.00.....:dancingbanana:
no pilots or collets though.....ordered what I needed from Forster directly...I love it, does what I need
