Her Mom has an old one of it, I'd guess from the 40's or 50's. It is all faded and has the look of character to it. She said I can have it when she's dead and no sooner.lol

Yessir. No idea why but almost everything I found at the homestead was Remington. Oh and Stevens. Well, then there's the Savage's and the Winchesters....... Leif was either hunting, trapping or talking guns with his friends. Hmmm, sounds familiar.......

I never got to know him. Ironically he was shot outside Didsbury and they never solved it. Gramma often told me I reminded her of him to a tee. Wished I could have met him.

Martin was not related although a close family friend. His Model 8 in that pic was the only gun he used from 1911 when he bought it new until 1958. He bought and sold a slew of guns besides but only hunted with that one. Later this winter I'll put all of it together to share here. There were at least four 25 Rem caliber guns roaming Bergen in the homesteading years. I have only found two of them so far. Hope to locate the others but that is no easy task with 60+ years gone by.
