Which chronograph to buy?

Two types of chronys..one that works and one that you haven't shot yet...:runaway:
Lots of truth to that! My old F1 chrony that quit working after only 27 or 28 years will be taken to the range for one final shot ---- with some firebird exploding targets stuck to it!

I've got a Steinert Superchrono. As long as you are wanting to measure supersonic speeds it works really well. It comes in a small self contained package that mounts on a tripod or lays on a table or box or whatever you want. No worries about light conditions, effects on accuracy like the Magnetospeed, and not ridiculous pricing like the lab radar. It was a pretty good compromise for me as I mostly want muzzle velocity for my rifles.

Check out mylabradar.com for the latest evolution in checking bullet speed, it looks interesting to me. I'm not sure I like the way the magnetospeed attaches to the barrel, not sure how that would effect accuracy unless you are just dumping rounds into the berm to get velocity readings and not accuracy testing at the same time. I have a Chrony right now and it seems to work well too.

What kind of stock are you shooting? There are lots of options that allow the magnetospeed to be attached to a rail piece instead. Definitely not required to attach it to your barrel.
