Hey guys have a newer Colt Sporter Match H-Bar that I would like to fit with a (Colt)flat top upper. I asked this question way back & could not locate some of the answers I got & never used my pencil to remember!!!!
I need to know how to figure out which upper with which size of pins I need or Who to ask!!!...sort of a loaded question but I know there are a couple guys who could help me out, Once again I tried a search with the search function and came up with nothing....Cheers!

Colt flat top uppers

Very simple if it has the standard front captive pin like the mil spec. that pushes out that is considered a small hole upper. If it has the 2 slotted screws, one on each side, that is the large hole upper. If you check biggerhammer you will see it marked as a sticky at the top of the forum. It is a good reference source.gladius 2

I found a Colt 6701 upper on the EE a couple years back. The lower had been long traded/sold off by the original owner. Since then, I've only seen two other all Colt factory flat top uppers on the EE. One was a large pin, the other a small pin. These uppers/rifles appear to be rarer than LE6921s.

Not completely correct. Colt also made some small hole uppers and lowers that attached with the two part screws. These cannot be converted for use with a standard push pin without some machining as their is no way to install the detent that retains the pivot pin.
