Which companies should I avoid?

Hi. I'm new to CanadianGunNutz, as well as hunting & shooting. Well technically, I haven't started. I'm planning to obtain PAL this year & hopefully I can start hunting & target shooting. Upon starting my journey to good shooter & firearm owner I have a question.

First, I've been checking pretty much every web site that deal with firearms. There are so many firearm manufactures that I never heard of. Therefore, I'm wondering is there any companies that I should avoid.

Thank you.

badger arms supply ....avoid at all costs but i dont think he is available at the moment.

all depends on what type of firearm you are after,do a search on this site and read away, there are many postings
on here and even some stickies regarding some firearms.
google search any rifle and read away.

welcom and hope you find what you are looking for

Welcome aboard! After reading some of the threads here you will see who is reputable to deal with, good luck in your search.

You might have a better go of figuring out exactly what you'd like to get your paws on, then asking who the best dealers are for that product. Easier to name a few good dealers than try to single out every little shop in the country that someone might have had a bad experience with. Good luck!

Never buy from that Stevebot-7 guy, he's downright weird.

Welcome. The issue is a big can of worms, as sometimes two people can simultaneously have great and horrible experiences with the same place. Other times it's that people's reviews are from years ago and the store has improved or declined since then. I don't think there are any horrible places on the business member list, but at the same time it partially depends on your expectations. I've seen people go to P&D and make it seem like torture, then I go there a few hours later and it's great for me and the other thirty people in the place. Some customers just aren't happy with anything.

There are old threads here about the best and the worst gun stores. Instead of asking who the worst are, here are a few of the good guys in no particular order:
1. Wolverine
2. Wanstalls
3. Hi Cal
4. Reliable
5. Canada Ammo
6. DS Tactical - not a gun store but WOW! What a store!
If these guys don't have what you want, you probably don't need it!

I would recommend Canada ammo, Crowin arms, and frontier firearms... But really if they are a sponsor on here they are probably pretty good. Have also ordered from some of the big box guys but I ike supporting the smaller businesses, they seem to get the cooler stuff anyway!

Welcome, and you're on the right track by asking questions.

There's all types here but most will steer you in the right direction.

Once you get your PAL check out the dealers up top. When you figure out what you're looking for then compare prices.

Maybe try and find one local to you then you can fondle some guns.

I've found lately that the first thing most shops do is ask to see your PAL before they'll hand one over.

Have fun!

Welcome to CGN. ;)
