which CZ is the CZ for me? (post #61 for final pic!)

ive been looking at them and there seems to be a few different ones.

i had been leaning towards the 452 Scout.
but then i thought that id just go with the plain vanilla 455 American.
then i saw the 455 Canadian and thought..... ya thats pretty!

but then i thought if im only to buy one maybe i should get one with a bull barrel, so i looked at the 455 Varmint.

and then there is the 455 American Combo, thats tempting.

and i see some people saying that if your gonna get a CZ then get a 452 cause they are better then the current 455's.

so now im lost.

this gun just just for plinking.
BUT when i plink i like to put all my shots through the same hole, so lets call it plinking bordering on benchrest shooting is what im looking to get out of the gun.

any suggestions??

Prepare yourself for disappointment, unless you are going to use match ammunition, and shoot no farther than 25 yards.;)
 
I have 3 - 452 CZ rifles, 2 are Americans, one in 22LR, the other is a 17HMR. The 3rd is a 452 Lux in 22 WMR.

The 17HMR is quite accurate, and while it favors the 20 grain Hornady offering, it also shoots the 17 grain stuff well.

The 22 LR is very accurate at the price, but is not competitive with any of the "big dogs" [541S and T, Win 52 & 75, Annie 54 and 64, 40X, m37, Suhl 150,]

As Stubble noted, don't expect consistent 1 hole groups at 50M, even with good ammo.

My 22WMR is not as accurate, although it turns in some very nice groups with the Remington 33 gr Accutip.
I personally believe that the WMR is hindered by ammo quality more than anything else.

I now have a Marlin WMR that seems to be making some very respectable groups with several different offerings...we'll
see how consistent it is.

The CZ's are great rifles, for the most part, but don't expect what they cannot deliver, and you will be happy.

With SK Standard Plus loads, all of my CZ rifles in 22lr shot well under 1" at 50 yards, usually around 1/2" or better. With crappy loads, most groups are under 1" at 50 yards.
 
If I was to only buy one I think it would be the one with the scrolled receiver and the fluted barrel, 453 premier I think its called? I like rare and limited stuff. Would also try a 455 Canadian as well as they might not be around much longer.

I have a 452 Style and it is a pleasure to shoot, I like everything about it.
 
I've owned the scout, 452 lux, 452 fs, 455fs, 455 std, 452 silhouette, 452 style, 452 varmint in 17hmr, brno 2e. I found of all of them the 452 fs was the most accurate. 455fs was the least accurate. The style and silhouette were a close second behind the 452fs. I only have the style and brno left, as they work the best for me. A few friends have asked me what to recommend for a mid priced rifle and I've told them to find the style. Both were very happy with that model.
 
My only CZ is a good indication of what I'd suggest~452 Varmint in .22lr. My only other CZ was a 452 Varmint in 17HMR~should have never sold it.

I'm an OK shooter, but I've never fed it anything fancy. I put a Yo Dave kit in, that improves things. What impresses me most is that @ 50 yards using cheap Blazer, all the holes will be touching if I do my part. It's the only gun I've ever owned that will shoot crap-o-la 333 1/2 decently too.

Awesome!! Look at getting a dip rail and extended mag release. Well worth it especially the rail as you don't have to be buying 10 sets of rings to find what works with your scope and doesn't fit like crap.

The DIP rail is great if you're bent on Weaver-style rings, but there's no need to buy 10 sets of dovetail rings (or even two) to get it right. That's unnecessary fear mongering;) Pick your scope and choose your rings according to height needed. There's no mystery, no voodoo. Just keep in mind Nikon scopes often have large ocular lenses and so may interfere with the bolt on low mounted scopes.

I have found that most rings do not fit the dove tail very nicely at all and that really bothers me as it looks like crap.
 
I was going to say 455 varmint, but close enough. I have heard the machining is a lot rougher on the 452 but I have never held one side x side with my 455 to compare so who knows. I would recommend a dip adjustable sear and trigger spring kit if your looking for the best trigger you can have. The yodave is good, but the dip is better I think.

I've had both. The 455 was just a tad cleaner on machine marks. Had to look really hard to find the difference between the 2
