Looking to get p226 refinished. I have a p226 scorpion elite and I love the finish and that its a tac driver for me. I did have a p226 stainless which cosmetically looked beautiful. Regret selling pistol.

I have another used p226 on its way which I'd like to refinish

I was wondering if hardchrome or a cerakote in silver would best resembles a stainless look?

It seems like hardchrome is the way to go but I figured I ask my fellow members. I don't have a shop near by where I could see in person how both finishes would look. I am just going by Google images.

Anyone have any pics of there gun that was finished in cerakote silver or in hardchrome?

Hardchrome for sure. Also depends what surface treatment you want - matte, brushed or polished. Brushed or polished look more like stainless. Silver cerakote doesn't look like stainless at all imo. I think a quality hard chrome is about the strongest, most durable, corrosion resistant finish possible on firearm. But it will come at a price. Expect to pay 300 plus

I have never had anything to do with cerakote, but I did have a HK P7 in satin hard chrome, and it was exc look and finish. A bit shinier than brushed stainless, which I don't really care for seems hard to keep looking good.
