Hi there gents,
So these options may not be available to me for a while (still in school and it is pricey!), but I was wondering what you all thought would make a better precision rifle. A stock remington 700 5r milspec or a remington 700 sps-v with a mcmillan htg stock?

have a visit to my website and look in the rifle tech section.

Got a few articles that can help you put together a precision rifle for what you will pay for these Rems.

This rifle will outshoot a factory Rem anyday of the week.

Also, good used can get you some really nice shooting iron for way less then putting it together yourself.

You will need optics and the Sightron SIII LR and SII Big Sky series are the best value in LR scopes on the market today. I have used and tried a bunch and these new scopes are amazing. Their much lower prices are an extra bonus.

Precision shooting is not cheap but we can try and make it affordable. Always focus on your shooting goals then work backwards to the rig/gear that can make this happen. Some times, there is only one way to do the task. Other times, you have plenty of options of varying complexity and costs.

Good luck with your journey.

Jerry
