Which Gen4 Glock 17 part(s) can be used on a Gen3?

Please note that this is retro fitting a Gen3 from extra Gen 4 parts and assume everything is OEM

Parts that I know will NOT work are:

1) slide for sure (don't have a slide now)

2) guide rod (got a Gen3)

3) trigger bar (gen 4 has a extra bump) (got a Gen3)

4) mag release (got a Gen3)

5) trigger housing (got a Gen3)


How about these?

a) firing pin assembly

b) back plate

c) extractor

d) safety plunger + spring

e) extractor dep plunger (the long metal rod thingy runs parallel to firing pin)

f) barrel? I thought barrel has no Gen3vs4



I have a full Gen3 lower but nothing to put on top perm so it's been collecting dust for months. Just ordered a blank slide but I do have a few Gen4 parts lying around so might as well build it and register it as a complete pistol. Just wanna know what parts I need to order. I have a spare chamber liner and a few upper Gen4 spare parts, got a Gen 3 guide rod from my Strike Industries G4 Slide Comp. If barrel is transferable then awesome.

Any part(s) that I missed? Basically anything on the lower I am covered.

Yup. I think they are all compatible if my memory serves right.
