Which Glock should I pick ??

by buying model 22, you are buying the most versatile glock out there.
With the conversion barrel (40-9) and 9mm magazines you may blast 9mm for cheaper fun.
When there is ammo supply shortage, the only, readily available handgun ammo is usually .40...and all you have to do is switch the barrel to the original one.
No ammo shortage for you.
On top of that, you may supply yourself with another aftermarket barrel in 357 sig.
Not that it's a popular caliber, but still you have third option to go here.
Not to mention 22 lr kit.
I like to have options and if the same applies to you - go with glock 22.
If you'll buy 17 you are stuck with 9mm. Don't get me wrong - model 17 is one great pistol.
However it will give you less options to go with.

Having darn near all of them... I would say 17. If you never plan to use it or range it... Then a G31 or G20 ammo isn't expensive if you only need to use it once.

Range toy 9mm
A great Glock just in case you need one
One day. 357sig or 10mm

I have two Glocks, a gen 2 model 17 and a gen 4 model 17. It seems to be the only one I like. I tried to like a .45 glock but the chemistry was not there but was for a 1911 pistol :)

I vote for the 17 as your first pistol, that with a .22 conversion kit, makes it really useful at a range where indoor will not let anything but 22lr prior to 9pm :) Its also useful for refining your shooting technique without costing an arm and a leg.

No need for all those fancy calibers for a first pistol.
9mm works, and it's the cheapest readily available centerfire.
If you want a pistol collection, then that's another story.

Another vote for 9mm - either the 17 or the 19, but if you buy a G19 as your first gun you'll never really have an excuse to buy another gun, if you buy a 17 you can always say you want a compact.
