Definately the G17.... for all the reasons everyone else mentioned...but that's also if You've shot a glock before and you know for sure you like how it feels and shoots...
otherwise, other 9mm would be good option... CZ shadow 9mm, springfield XD or M & P 9mm,
Glocks, though not for everyone..are great realiable shooting guns.. decent accuracy...snappy feel to them, especially when you hybrid port the barrel, like i did to my G19 (not sure of generation, 1st, maybe 2nd) either way, I've pimped it out a bit, so not original, but I'm never selling it....ever...

I'm more interested in reliability than feel. I can get used to the feel of something if I know it's going to function properly, no matter what I throw at it... Like underwear, or a truck. :D

had a gen 3 hated it, not a glock fan at all, but will comment anyhow. it makes a lot more sense for you to get the 17 than the 21. lighter recoil in a polymer pistol, more choice of ammo, easier to get much cheaper to buy, you will not prefer your 21 over your 1911....so going backwards, but you will enjoy the 9mm easier to handle funner to shoot, and if the going gets tough it will be easier to sell than the 21. Just a few neutral thoughts

I'm not a Glocker either - but the reliability sold me. I know about the KB issue, but I'm not worried about it (as I won't be reloading).

I'm a bit bigger than the average bear, so I'm not worried about recoil.

As for selling whichever Glock I get - I don't think I will. I'm keeping my Savage .30-06. I'm keeping the Norc 1911 that better damned well get to my door soon . I'm keeping the SKS I just bought last week. I'm keeping the Mossberg 500 I plan on buying soon.

Once I have have everything on my "must have" list (currently at 10 items), that's when I'll get into the buying, trying, and selling.
