Which gunsmith should I send my K98 to?

Hey guys,

So I have a K98k I’d like to bubba....sort of.

The rifle is a Russian capture with no matching parts. The stock is gouged and dented, and the recoil lug is almost rusted right off. The real kicker is that the barrel is completely shot. Pitting and rust all the way through. I tried to save it, but no matter what it’s printing minimum 6 inch groups at 50 yards with surplus, match, and hand loaded ammo.

Now, I have a surplus stock set, and a beautiful Shilen select match grade 8mm barrel blank. Also a reproduction low ring turret mount set and an original Zf39 scope on the way....

I’d like to have the barrel blank reprofiled to match the original, have the receiver trued, the scope mounts installed, and the action bedded in the new stock set. My question is, who would you recommend to do all this? I Previously tried to get the mount installed by a certain shop in Orillia, and after 6 (yes, six) months, they sent it back saying they couldn’t do it.

Maybe this is more of a question for the gunsmithing section, and I’ll probably try my luck there as well. I just thought I’d get you guys’ opinions on who to send the whole mess off to.

"The recoil lug is almost rusted right off."
That doesn't sound like a receiver worth spending money on.
Jason could certainly do the work for you.
