I know this could go in the Handgun forum but with more of a Hunting Twist I placed it here
Debates and Politics aside lets Imagine Handguns have become an accepted "tool" and you decide to Purchase one with intentions of using it for North American Game
So which Handgun and Cartridge do you choose and Why ?
Here's my Choice...
I've always owned and been partial to Large Bore single actions however I feel the Ruger Redhawk is a Nice looking Hunting Package.
Ruger's Integral ring setup adds the option of easy scope mounting too.
I'd choose the 454 Casull....Plenty of Poop for whatever if needed & it also meets BC Min "Power levels" for bison BTW..almost
I also like the idea of being able to use the slightly cheaper and more available 45 long Colt ammo in it for Practise plinking etc...
That's my Choice..
Ruger SuperRedhawk Dull Grey Stainless, Rubber laminate grips in 454 Casull/45 Colt, 7-1/2" barrel
