I have .40 Glock on order, but I also want something else that will shoot any reloads, lead ammo etc without being too picky.

SIG, Beretta, CZ, MP 40, Springfield XDM-40? Anything else I should look at?

Opinions? Suggestions?

Thanks,
Dan

I suggest a second barrel for your Glock, either in 9x19 or in .40.

Questar has both Lone Wolf and Storm Lake barrels to fit your Glock, and Sporteque has IGB barrels to fit your Glock.

M&P40...its like a Glock only better:)

Yeah, Glocks' suck. Because...

You can get parts and holsters for them everywhere, you can get .22 rimfire conversion kits and threaded and caliber-changing barrels, you can dry fire without breaking your striker and you can dry-fire without having to use a magazine.

Glocks' suck, the M&P rocks.

bwahaha im not a glock fan but that #### was funny :p

go for a CZ! cant go wrong with one, delselins or how ever you spell it has one for sale in the EE for a pretty sweet price.

Majority of opinions are to get aftermarket barell for Glock.

I just might do that.

As a second alternative, buying different pistol, which one would you suggest?

I am somewhat surprised that no one has suggested SIG?
Any reasons, problems, known issues?

An aftermarket .40 barrel for the Glock

If you are buying an aftermarket barrel anyway, why not purchase a Glock 20 or Glock 20 SF? Get an aftermarket barrel in 40 and you will have the ability to shoot 10pm and 40. You will probably want to purchase a 10pm replacement barrel as well down the road for reloads.

Chizzy

I did look at a SIG, and made inquiries to someone on EE, but person never answered to my PMs.

CZ is always a good choice.

Springfield XDM 40 seems interesting, does anyone on this boards own one, or have shot it?

If you don't mind CZ, you have 2 options - 75B SA and 75B DA/SA guns. With simple 9mm EFK barrel and mag change it becomes 9mm gun and Kadet kit makes it .22LR gun too.

Three posts within a minute... Good one! :)

I considered CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical .40cal, SIG 226, XDM 40 more so than the others so far.
Does Tactical have worthy upgrades over stock 75B?

I prefer whole gun over changing barrel kit, and would like to purchase something that is quite or somewhat different to what I already own.

Thanks.

I vote CZ, great guns, quite different from your current Glock and what Ceezer says in his post.

Armco had a nice compact (still restricted though) CZ in .40S&W a while back dunno if it's still there...

I've literally shot thousands of rounds through a Glock 22 .40 cal, including hundreds of lead reloads, with the factory barrel. With judicious barrel cleaning after every session I never had an issue.

That all said, if it makes you feel better to get an aftermarket barrel for your G22 then go for it. Might as well get a 9mm conversion barrel for it too & some G17 mags for a good combo gun as well.

As for .40 S&W cal itself, I also shoot it in a S&W 4006, BHP MkIII and a Colt Delta Elite with a .40 cal barrel fitted to it via Armco.
