Which handgun to choose

Good Day,

This is somewhat of a dumb question. I am purchasing a CZ75B, and have a choice of black or satin/nickel.

I am waiting to look at the black and have the satin/nickel on hold.
Like the look of the satin/nickel but is there any reason not to buy this over a black handgun.

a. black is cheaper
b. does the black resist stains, dirt etc. and wear and tear better?
c. is the satin/nickel not cool for some reason.?
d. what about the sights. I heard the sights on the satin were harder to see?

Thanks

Both are reasonable durable. Both will show wear with use.

The nickel is a real pleasure to clean; fouling just wipes off, it's amazing. I do love that aspect of a nickel finish. BUT. The nickel - in the right(wrong) light also gives off a glare that could attract rescue helicopters and help you start a fire. This glare - in the right(wrong) light can make your sights literally disappear.

Pimps (and lazy guys like me) seem to like nickel. High-speed guys prefer black.

Go stainless

ok now I apologize to you all for the shameless repost of my "Precious"

Smart looking pistol.But hey!!

What you really want is the Smith and Wesson Model 29 in 44 magnum ,the most powerful handgun in the world(back then).

Then you would truly understand the weight of the phrase,"Do you feel lucky, punk?Well? Do ya?"

and

"Go ahead.Make my day."

I have the model 29 and the Sig 226..Hard to decide which is one's favourite child.

Right on! I just bought a Sig P226.

S&W 629 6" or 6.5" is next. :)

"...heard the sights on the satin were harder to see?..." Maybe in bright sunlight.
A nickel finish on a firearm is 19th Century technology. The black finish on a CZ will be fine. Comes down to which one you like.
A CZ75, with any finish, is a fine pistol, if it fits your hand. Was working in a gun shop when they first came to Canada in the early 80's. Each pistol had a factory shot target in the box. Most were 2" or less groups. Don't remember at what distance. 20 or 25 yards, I think. Would have bought one in a heart beat, but they're too big for my hand. sniff.

Hey! the man wants a CZ not a 100 year old revolver! :D If you haven't already I think you should look at them in person. The satin nickel is really nice looking and might appeal to you. I wouldn't personally buy it because it costs way more, and that is uncool to me. On the other hand some like the stainless look, but I personally couldn't bear to whip that baby out at the range without feeling ghey;) Black is good.

There are no clear advantage of one over the other, for what you are allowed to use it for in Canada. Stick to 9 mm, because the ammo is cheap -)

You are right.
Walther p99qa will be a good gun if you have $$$
I mean it is a $1000 gun after all.
Cz is much cheaper

1911 is kind of old.
go for springfield XD (modern version of 1911).

Somethings are just designed RIGHT, the first time :D.

An XD is NOT a modern 1911. About the only thing in common is the calibre (for the .45 version).

Thanks for all the input, I did go with the Satin Nickel in the end after considerable hemming and hawing.
My only disappointment is that I was so looking forward to engaging in full on desert combat.....just kidding.

Thanks again
