Which is better Muzzleloader or shotgun with a rifled barrel

I wouldn't worry too much about the regs changing. These people aren't smart enough to know a rifled barrel from a smoothbore.

The REALLY dumb part is in one of my WMU's I can shoot groundhogs/coyotes with my .338 Win Mag, but can only shoot a deer with a shotgun or ML. Anyone see the irony here??

True enough. I just don't think the CO's would ever back this, as they have very few staff and too much territory to cover.

No time to be walking around in the bush to make sure there is no grooves in my shotgun barrel, especially when a rifled barrel can be removed and left in your stand.;)

Muzzle loading is pretty cool. We do it every year and it gets us out earlier than the rest and we see some pretty big buggers. Plus there's nothing like seeing a big puff of smoke and then a deer droping once the fog clears.

I use both. I parted with my Marlin 12 slug gun and kept my Hawken 50cal. Both are very accurate out to about 80yds. Im sure others could shoot accurately a bit further....

Yes, the muzzleloader follow up shot, in my case, is about 50 seconds later, but so far, I haven't needed it.

If you can afford it, try both. I don't think you would regret either one.
