I want to get a 22LR to carry in my back pack when I am exploring trails riding my motorcycle or quad.Just for gophers and plinking.
I want also want to install a small scope on it.
Which is the best? Marlin Papoose? Henry? Others?
I don't think a 10-22 with a folding stock would be short enough.
Needs to be about 16" long when collapsed.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Armalite, Charter Arms, Survival Arms.) Barrels used to be metal. The Henry has an "improved" plastic pos barrel with a thin steel barrel liner. (Pick a pistol, any pistol, and I bet that it will beat the shootability of a plastic-barrelled Henry.) On the other hand, parts interchange and if you can get a good barrel the AR-7 is wicked (good).
