I have been considering a Kimber for some time, and read all of the threads here, and browse Kimbers sight on occasion.

They have a WIDE selection of pistols/variants.

I want a stainless .45 for range work, and to shoot at the local IPSC matches.

I have pretty much decided on the Stainless TLE II.
Would this be an appropriate choice?

What extra does the custom model offer?
Would another Kimber model be better?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I prefer the finish on the TLE (satin vs. brush polished on the Eclipse).

But you are right. Better trigger, sights and one extra round make it a better IPSC choice.

The Target is a little fancier too, for only a few bucks more.

If you're going to be shooting it lots (eg IPSC) you may want to consider .40 as it is far cheaper.

Yeah, I have a 9mm now for that reason, but need a 1911/.45 in my collection.

It will force me to get into reloading too, but not until later next year. I'll shoot 9 mostly anyway.

I want a TLE / RL II with internal extractor :)
All 06 models have internals

My 05 TLE/RLII with EE has been flawless, doenst matter what I shove in it, it shoots it and cycles perfectly. Reloads, factory, clean or dirty it shoots. I loved it so much that I bought a second kimber, ultra CDPII for daily carry, it too is a great gun, I need to lighten the trigger but its the perfect conceal/carry gun and very accurate too.
