Hello, I have a 1990 colt king cobra 357 magnum, my ejector rod keeps unscrewing itself after a few shots and I am just wondering I want to try and use some locktite or threadlocker but I believe both of the parts I am putting together are made of stainless steel which are “inactive”. So my question is does anyone know a good product I could use? Or maybe a primer? Or also am I maybe wrong in thinking these parts are both stainless steel? I’m just assuming everything is on this revolver.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks!!

When I read the loctite 242 blue it says if both parts are stainless steel it won’t cure.

did a quick flip through my loctite booklet, if using 242 would be advised because youd probably want to be able to remove the ejector rod if need be. however, youll need the loctite primer first for stainless or aluminum.

Actually what about loctite 243? Sounds like it might work without a primer?

You can always try cleaning both threads with lacquer thinner and tightening them dry... good and snug... good and snug...

Yup, Loctite 243.
Used it when I replaced all my fasteners on my Harley with stainless steel.
Worked great; no galling, nothing came loose (all tightened to factory torque specs).
Online literature says it could be used for stainless but the card it came with was very clear it was to be used on stainless.
Good stuff but not cheap.
