Which Marlin next?

a 94 in 44, i'd like one in stainless to match my 1895gs.
i wish they would bring out a 39 in stainless, 18.5 inch
barrel with a straight stock.

39a
32 special
35 rem
308/338ME
38/55
.375
444
450
all of the above

or an XL7 in 30-06 or 270 if you prefer a bolt action

You should check out marlinowners.com if you haven't already!

There are two Marlins that I don't think you can ever go wrong with:

1) The 39a in 22lr
2) The 1894c in 357

Both can be hard to find at times, although it seems that the supply is loosening up (e.g., 2 or 3 1894c's have been in the EE recently).

I really like my 1894c. The 18 1/2" barrel makes it a dream to carry and the 357 is both a cheap round to buy factory and a whole load of fun to reload (I like hurling 180gr cast out of mine).

I have a pretty good Marlin collection, but was missing a big bore. I just purchased a 444 --- there's something about owning a Marlin in a Marlin-labelled cartridge. But since you have already have a 45/70, I'd definitely put my vote in for the 1894c.

BTW I have a spare 39a of 1950's vintage in VG+ condition that I'm going to be listed in the EE this week.

Well not a Marlin but....................
I just bought a bnib Henry Lever from WSS yesterday and took her to the range today. What a smooth and accurate litttle number.
The wood is quite nice looking and the octagonal barrel makes it very appealing. It has nice sorta heft for a .22 which points nice. I looked at the less expensive model and did'nt like the plastic front sight or barrel band at all but I did like its carbine characteristics. I was'nt too crazy about the Brasslite finish one either.
All in all I am very happy with this purchase and can't wait to bunny blast with it. I read too that Henry has very good customer service.
