Look around the gun shows.
There were a whole bunch of Swede Mausers in 6.5x55 that got turned into fairly nice sporters, not too heavy for a girl. Find yourself a magazine floorplate/triggerguard for a Mauser-Vergueiro and you have the nicest little hinged floorplate with the button inside the triggerguard that you could ask for.
Most of the Swede sporters were already tapped and drilled.
6.5x55 is a nice cartridge for a not-terribly-large woman: not a lot of recoil..... and you can handload it so that she will barely even feel it, not drop much off the performance at all.
